Getting to Sorrento

Sorrento is located 50 kilometres south of Naples and can be reached by train, bus, car, or ferry. Below you'll find all the information you need to reach Sorrento. It takes about an hour to travel between Naples and Sorrento.

Transfers

Cancellation and waiting policy
For cancellations made up to 24 hours prior the transfer, there will be no charge as penalty.
For cancellations made later, there will be charged the total amount of the transfer as well.
For waiting of more than 2 hours, there will be charged the amount of the transfer twice.

Bus
From Naples airport, the Curreri bus runs directly to Sorrento in about an hour. The bus departs from the arrivals terminal at the Capodichino International Airport. The bus arrives at the terminal ten minutes before each scheduled departure.
  • The bus ticket to Sorrento costs €10,-, and can be purchased on board from the driver.
  • The bus also has stops in Castellammare di Stabia, Vico Equense, Meta, Piano, and Sant'Agnello.
  • The Sorrento stop is at the Circumvesuviana station downtown.
  • The ride lasts about 1h 15m, though can take longer when there is heavy traffic.
  • Buses run daily.
  • If you need to reach the Naples airport on Sunday evening in the summer, or on Easter Monday, 25 April, and 1 May holidays, it's a good idea to consider an alternative as you may end up stuck in heavy traffic. 
The last bus from the Naples airport to Sorrento departs at 9:30pm in the summer, and at 7:30pm in the winter. If your flight arrives after that time, your only alternative is to reach Sorrento by private transfer or taxi. The average fare for a taxi ride from Naples to Sorrento is € 100-120. We recommend booking a transfer rather than taking a taxi, as you will have a driver waiting to meet you when your flight lands. Below you can find the information and prices about transfers.



Circumvesuviana Train Schedules from Naples Train Station to Sorrento
Here you'll find all the Circumvesuviana train schedules for routes between Naples and Sorrento, Italy, including nearby towns. We have only indicated the major stops along the route below; the train also makes Intermediate stops.
The schedule refers to the current season and are updated based on the timetables published by the public transportation companies.

  • The route between Naples and Sorrento takes 1h 10m; trains marked DD do not stop at the intermediate stations, so take only 50 minutes from Naples to Sorrento.
  • The ticket from Naples to Sorrento currently costs €3,60.
  • Sorrento is the final stop along the route.
  • The Circumvesuviana train departs from the lower level of the Naples Piazza Garibaldi train station, below the level where the high speed trains arrive and depart.
  • Trains for Sorrento generally depart from track 3. To reach this track, there are no escalators or elevators. Be careful to check the display announcing train arrivals and departures to be sure you are boarding the route to Sorrento and not Sarno!
  • There is an elevator at the Sorrento station, which is located in the center of Sorrento.
  • There is no luggage storage nor air conditioning on the Circumvesuviana trains.
  • Dogs are allowed, leashed and muzzled.
From the Station of Sorrento to the Conference Venue it is a 15 minute walk. If you prefer to take the public transportation, please visit the official website of the public transportation : http://www.sitasudtrasporti.it/ and select the region "Campania" (a message will pop up when you will access the website asking for which region you want to have information on public transport). If you want to book a taxi, you will find taxis parked in front of the bus station.

Boats

It is possible to take a transfer by boat (hydrofoil). Tickets can be purchased at the ticket office located in Beverello port. It is possible only for groups to book in advance the tickets, but not for individuals. In order to reach the pier from which the hydrofoil boats leave, you can find below several options to be transferred from the airport directly to the boat. Please find below more information regarding prices and times of departure.
