Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to announce that the Fourteenth International Vacuum Electronics Conference, IVEC 2013, organized and sponsored by the European Space Agency (ESA) with the technical co‐sponsorship of IEEE Electron Devices Society (EDS), will be held 21-23 May 2013 in Paris, France.
IVEC was originally created in 2000 by merging the US Power Tubes Conferences and the European Space Agency TWTA Workshops, and has now expanded to a fully international conference, being held every other year in the US, and in Europe and Asia alternately every fourth year. After Bangalore, India in 2011 and Monterey, USA in 2010 and 2012, IVEC 2013 returns to Europe to the wonderful city of Paris.
You can learn more about IVEC by visiting VacuumElectronics.org, the EDS Vacuum Electronics Technical Committee website.
We invite you to submit papers on your work and experiences in vacuum electronics. IVEC 2013 is intended to be a forum of information and discussion between the various players in the field of vacuum electronics: device users, manufacturers and operators, government/institutions, academics, and students. Submissions from all groups are encouraged. IVEC 2013 will provide the right place for the exchange of scientific and technical information and will foster collaboration and cooperation in the vacuum electronics domain both at European and worldwide level.
The John R. Pierce Award for Excellence in Vacuum Electronics, and a Student Paper Award will be presented at the conference.
In the morning of Friday 24 May, the attendees of IVEC 2013 will be able to participate to a workshop on CST Particle Studio. The workshop is free of charge but, for logistic reasons, those interested in attending will have to pre-register on the dedicated CST webpage.
The Conference venue is right in the city centre, within walking distance from the most beautiful monuments and attractions. The Conference will be complemented by a varied and interesting social program, details of which will be posted on the IVEC 2013 website in the months to come. As in past conferences, the technical meeting and social events will provide a unique opportunity to renew friendships with colleagues and friends, interact with customers, and meet students.
We look forward to welcoming you to Paris in 2013!
Sincerely,
The IVEC 2013 Committee
