Participation to this Workshop is limited to representatives of European mid-size satellite Integrators and to Delegates in ESA State Members that register to the event. |
M-IND (Mid size satellite INDustrialisation) main objective is to address the competitiveness of Integrators of LEO Mid size satellites aiming at optimising the effort to scale-up production to LEO constellations mainly in the Telecom, Navigation or Earth Observation (EO) application Domains. Missions in other domains (e.g. SCI or SSA missions) or simple IOD/IOV missions are not the primary objective of this initiative, but could indirectly, also benefit thanks to thanks to lower cost or faster delivery time. The target market of M-IND goes beyond ESA missions: it could also address the needs for other institutional or National missions, as well as for commercial and export markets.
What M-IND IS | What M-IND IS NOT |
For satellites integrators and Platform provider to improve their competitiveness on all markets | Limited to ESA missions |
Payload agnostic (as
much as possible) | Aimed at a specific application domain |
Aimed at established & emerging industry (large, medium, small) | Only aimed at Large System Integrators |
Promote interoperable systems to enable ‘dual+’ sourcing with architecture & design flexibility | Developing a standard / unique European Platform |
Federating and
ensuring compatibility & inter-operability | One size fits all solution |
About Industrialisation and Competitiveness (about reducing recurring cost and delivery time) | About Standardisation / ‘SAVOIR-like’ |
ESA kindly invites European Mid-Size Sat Integrators to :
ESA Member State Delegates, as well as ESA personnel, are also invited to register to the Workshop.
The Survey and the Workshop will represent a starting point in the ESA-Industry dialogue, and it could be extended in the form of:
Participants are invited to stay for the Social Event just after the Workshop for further iteration.
