Pyrotechnics Workshop

You are cordially invited to the ESA/CNES pyrotechnics workshop to be held at ESTEC (Noordwijk, The Netherlands) on 12 February 2020. The goal of the workshop is to understand the needs in the frame of pyrotechnics devices and equipment on satellites and launchers and to prepare a relevant roadmap of ESA R&D activities to support European industries at the best.

To help pre-identifying the topics that will mainly be discussed during the workshop, some abstracts (of not more than one page) are requested. They should only indicate the topics (or activities) that are considered important by you (for example to fulfill the requirements of primes and industry). The abstract should consist in:

  • Title of the proposed activity
  • Author and affiliation
  • Short explanation of the activity including the goal and the reason why it is considered important
  • A high level list of tasks to be done to complete the activity
  • The estimated time to complete the activity
  • The estimated cost of the activity

The workshop will be organized with a round table where main agencies (ESA/CNES), satellite primes (Thales, Airbus), launcher primes (AVIO/ArianeGroup) and industries (Pyroalliance, Dassault, APP,…) will be represented in order to converge on the main topics (based on the received abstracts) to be developed in Europe in the frame of pyrotechnics. Each attendant is invited in the round table discussions.
Abstracts have to be submitted with a deadline date of 30/01/2020.

It will be asked to the abstracts proposers to prepare a short presentation (a few slides) to provide some evidence on the importance of the activity to be possibly implemented in the ESA technology development roadmap. The presentation will be shown to the audience during the round table discussion.

Abstract submission can be done via this link.
