Title: Transition in high-speed flow with and without surface roughness elements
Biography: Neil Sandham (Southampton) has been Professor of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Southampton since 1999, having previously been at Stanford University (PhD 1989), DLR Göttingen and Queen Mary, University of London. His area of expertise is DNS and Large-Eddy Simulation (LES) of transitional and turbulent flows, particularly in the high-speed flow regime. He was the founding principal investigator of the UK Turbulence Consortium, promoting the use of massively parallel computers for simulations of turbulent flows.
