Request for Information

In preparation of the Strategy Forum (November 12-13, ESTEC) on Space-Based Data Centres (SBDC), ESA published a Request for Information (RFI) to collect stakeholders’ inputs that will directly inform the scenarios and discussion topics explored during the Forum. 

The RFI can be accessed directly on OSIP: Open Space Innovation Platform - OSIP - Campaign: ‪ESA Strategic Initiative on Space-Based Data Centres: Request for Information ahead of Strategy Forum

The Request for Information (RFI) will be open from 12 August 2026 to 25 September 2026. 

Contributing to the RFI is not a requirement for registering to the Strategy Forum. However, if registrations exceed available capacity, contributors to the RFI will be given priority consideration during the participant selection process.

Rather than focusing on a specific technology or application, respondents are encouraged to provide coherent scenarios illustrating how a future space-based data infrastructure ecosystem could operate, what services it would provide, which stakeholders would participate, and what challenges it would address.
