The European Space Agency (ESA) and the Netherlands Space Office (NSO) have joined efforts to host this years ScyLight Conference. The Netherlands Space Office (NSO) is the governmental Space Agency of the Netherlands. It’s tasks is to advise upon and realise the national space policy. The space policy of the Netherlands focuses on the added value of space on science, economy and society, and in particular the development of ground-breaking space technologies, and services based on satellite data.
NXTGEN Hightech Laser Satcom focusses on the development of optical satellite communication equipment for a secure and connected world. The program is leveraging the strong positions of the Netherlands in the relevant key enabling technologies and the strong ecosystem for high-tech equipment and space instrumentation. It includes a variety of technologies, essential for laser satellite communication. From ground terminals with quantum-based encryption, to instruments connecting airplanes to satellites at ultra-high data rates. In doing so, strong Dutch positions within international value chains will be established for wireless laser communication products and services.
