The Optical and Quantum Communications – ScyLight is an ESA strategic programme line dedicated to optical communications, photonics and quantum communication. Forming part of the Advanced Research in Telecommunications Systems (ARTES), the programme that supports technology developments in satellite communications, seeking to keep European and Canadian industry at the leading edge of the global market. The ScyLight programme aims to address the development, demonstration and utilisation of innovative optical and quantum technologies for satellite communication. By supporting industry to develop and extend its manufacturing capabilities, it helps prepare stakeholders to seize related market opportunities.
The Spanish Space Agency (AEE)
The Spanish Space Agency (AEE) is proud to co-organise the ScyLight Conference, a pivotal event for industry leaders and experts in optical and quantum communication technologies. As the national agency, our mandate is to lead and coordinate Spanish space policy, driving excellence in research, technological and industrial development, and innovation. ScyLight provides a critical platform for achieving one of our core goals: to establish Spain as a European and international leader in the sector, and actively boost the national space industrial fabric.
Our involvement as co-hosts in the ScyLight Conference confirms the priority we place on developing the full value chain of the space sector, from upstream design and manufacturing to downstream services and applications. The AEE ensures the coherent coordination of national efforts with the European Space Agency (ESA), guaranteeing that Spanish stakeholder interests are strongly represented. This event enables us to reinforce public-private partnerships and stimulate investment in disruptive technologies such as optical and quantum communications, firmly positioning Spain as a strategic and dynamic hub for the future of satellite telecommunications.

Shaping the future of space operations. DLR GfR provides reliable, safe and secure space services and operates Europe’s largest satellite constellation with 32 Galileo satellites, on behalf of the European Commission from the Galileo Control Center (GCC-D) in Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany.
With 24/7 operations and 99.99% service availability, DLR GfR delivers end-to-end space operations services – from mission planning and flight dynamics to launch, early orbit, in-orbit testing, routine operations and maintenance for the worldwide distributed ground segment.
In addition to Galileo operations, DLR GfR drives innovation through key projects such as JASPR and OPTIMUS, advancing automation, resilience and efficiency in future space operations.
With a European team of more than 342 experts, DLR GfR stands for operational excellence and innovation in space.
Together with DLR, we will host SpaceOps 2027 in Germany, bringing the global space operations community together.
Exhibition Space Returns This Year!
We are pleased to share that the exhibition space introduced last year will continue as part of this year’s conference. This dedicated area offers participants an opportunity to showcase hardware, present services, and engage in meaningful conversations with peers and partners.
The exhibition space will be integrated into the heart of the event, creating a natural setting for interaction throughout the day. Whether you are looking to reconnect with familiar faces or explore new collaborations, having a presence here can help spark valuable discussions and open doors to future opportunities. If you are interested in sponsoring or in joining the exhibit please contact the organisers.
