ESA Academy Student Sponsorship

The ESA Education Office is pleased to sponsor the attendance of up to 3 tertiary education students to attend SECESA 2024 in the frame of the ESA Academy Conference Student Sponsorship programme. The sponsorship will cover the early bird student registration fees (directly paid by ESA Education Office) and provides a maximum reimbursement of EUR 560 towards travel and accommodation expenses, which will be reimbursed via a single bank transfer after the event and will only be paid upon submission of receipts.

Eligibility

To be eligible for an ESA Academy Student Sponsorship, you must fulfil the following criteria at the time of application:

  • be a student over the age of 18 at the time of application;
  • submit:

    • EITHER a short video of 2min length pitching yourself, your interest in and experience with Systems and Concurrent Engineering and your thoughts about the future of Mission Design, answering the following questions: 
      • What will be the future of Mission Design 25 years?
      • How would you contribute to advance the state?

    • OR an essay answering said questions, not exceeding 1 page of A4 size;

  • be a citizen of an ESA Member State, Canada, Slovakia, Slovenia, Latvia or Lithuania;
  • be enrolled as a student (Bsc, Msc, or Ph.D.) in a tertiary education academic programme (not graduating before the Conference);
  • not benefit from an overlapping financial support to attend this conference, unless duly justified; 
  • agree with the conditions of the ESA Academy’s Privacy Policy.

The ESA Academy requires active participation of sponsored students in the workshop. Therefore, selected candidates are required to present a paper (if you have submitted one, please indicate it in the form) or a poster at the conference reflecting the topics mentioned in the pitch video and in the submitted essay. 

Priority will be given to students who have less than 2 years of professional experience and have never taken part in an activity sponsored by the ESA Education Office.

c. your pitch video / essay to ESA Conference Bureau (ESAConferenceBureau@atpi.com) with email subject “SECESA 2024 - ESA Academy Student Sponsorship” no later than 14th May 2024, 23:59 CET.

The deadline for applications is 14 May at 23:59 CEST.

The decision by the Selection Committee will be communicated by 12 June, along with Authors Notification & Preliminary Programme.
