Abstract Submission Portal

Papers will be selected on the basis of a one page abstract.
Abstracts should be submitted by Friday, 10 May 2024 (extended deadline) via the online submission portal to ESA Conference Bureau.

To facilitate the submission process and subsequent follow-up process, please consider the following guidelines and information:

  • Abstract text shall be limited to approximately 700 words in length (<1 page of A4).
  •  Abstracts shall be written in plain text and shall not include tables, figures, or photographs. 
  •  Abstracts shall summarise major findings, results of interests and novelties. 
  •  Abstract title shall be limited to 50 words. Principle author or contact person shall provide full name and contact information.
  •  Author(s) shall indicate their preferred presentation type (oral or poster). 
  •  Author(s) shall indicate proposed topic - see section "Topics" Author(s) shall provide full name and affiliation. 
  • Rights and Permissions: Prior to submission, authors shall obtain all clearances, authorisations and licenses needed for submission of the paper to SECESA and the presentation at the symposium. Authors are informed that their paper(s) and presentation(s) will be included in the proceedings and made publicly available.

Abstracts will be assessed against the following criteria:

Significance: Contributions should be substantial and significant in content. The Committee may decline to publish papers that report minor incremental progress. Manuscripts that are commercial in nature will not be considered.

Originality: Papers should describe the original work of the authors that has not been previously published in a journal or presented in another conference. Any copying of text, figures, data, or results of other authors without giving credit is defined as plagiarism and is a breach of professional ethics. Such papers will be rejected

Disclosure: If the topic, presented in the abstract, was previously presented in a conference and published in a conference proceedings or is under consideration for publication in a conference proceedings, this information must be disclosed when the abstract is initially submitted to SECESA. At the time of the paper submission, authors should also reference or acknowledge the prior proceedings.
