Casa Convalescència
The conference will take place at Casa Convalescència, a unique and emblematic venue located in the heart of Barcelona. This remarkable building forms part of the historic Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau complex, which has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its outstanding architectural and cultural value.
Originally conceived by the renowned modernist architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner and later completed by Pere Domènech i Roura, Casa Convalescència is a masterpiece of Catalan modernism. The building harmoniously combines historic architectural elements—such as stone columns, ceramic tile decorations, and vaulted ceilings—with contemporary design and advanced technological facilities.
Today, Casa Convalescència is managed by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and serves as a centre for higher education, professional training, and international events. It is also the headquarters of the UAB Foundation, reinforcing its role as a hub for academic and cultural exchange.
The venue offers all the facilities required to host conferences, congresses, and meetings of all kinds. With over 6,000 square metres of space distributed across several floors, it includes 26 fully equipped meeting rooms, an Aula Magna with capacity for up to 200 participants, spacious common areas, terraces, and a garden.

The Aula Magna is suitable as the principal plenary room for the workshop programme and keynote sessions.Additional meeting rooms support breakout discussions, programme committee meetings, speaker preparation, or sponsor conversations.The vestibule, terraces, and garden are well suited for registration, coffee breaks, poster conversations, and informal networking. The venue is fully equipped for congresses, conventions, seminars, and meetings.
How to get there
Directions from Barcelona Sants Station to Casa Convalescència
From Barcelona Sants Station, go to the metro and take Line L5 (blue line) in the direction of Vall d'Hebron. Stay on the metro for approximately 20 minutes and get off at Sant Pau – Dos de Maig station. From there, walk for about 5 to 10 minutes to reach Casa Convalescència, located at Carrer de Sant Antoni Maria Claret, 171, near Hospital de Sant Pau.
Total travel time is approximately 25–30 minutes.
