Grants

The RSML-2023 organisation will offer limited funding to assist a) early career scientists and b) researchers based in developing countries, to attend the workshop. In order to be eligible for a travel grant, interested candidates must:

  1. Submit an abstract as primary authors;
  2. Have their abstract selected for oral or poster presentation;
  3. Submit an email application by the deadline (see below).

The definition of early-career scientists applies to researchers with a maximum of 7 years after their PhD. In the abstract submission form, the applicants will have also the opportunity to indicate if they qualify for “early-career scientists” by ticking a corresponding checkbox.

To apply for a grant, participants are required to send an email by the 24th of July 2023 to esaconferencebureau@atpi.com, with:

  • email subject: “Remote Sensing of Marine Litter Workshop 2023 – Grant Application”, 
  • email text including: 
    • main author/applicant name;
    • title of the submitted abstract;
    • description of the request of financial support (e.g. travel and/or accommodation and/or workshop fee) and amount requested;
  • attachments: Motivational letter (max ½ page) and brief CV (max 2 pages).

Travel grants may include partial or full support, depending on the number of applicants.
