On-Board Computer Systems are becoming more and more complex and powerful. In particular, multi-core technologies are the baseline for future systems. The validation of these systems is challenging, especially in the area of On-Board Computer emulation and simulation. Ground software technologies must evolve to cope with these latest developments.
In this context, ESA and its partners (industrials and research institutions) started last year a working group as part of the RATIO-SIM Initiative. To acknowledge the effort that is made to highlight this topic, the SESP Organisation Committee welcomes, for this 2025 edition, submissions addressing Simulation of On-Board Computers, including topics dealing with:
Potential areas for application on these specific themes are the following:
• Definition of Design phase use-cases
• Definition of Operations phase use-cases
• Perspective of On-Board Software (OBSW) verification and validation user
• Definition of interfaces with platform simulators
• Feedback on various technologies like virtualisation, emulation or simulatio
